For example when you enter your email adress: johndoe at msn.com the client knows that its an msn account and adds all the server information automaticly. As for normal email servers, i don?t think it works, I was just wondering if Kolab has this functionality because it makes life so much easier for people who don?t know how to properly setup email on their phone or laptop. Ports will always be the same as well as the incoming and outgoing server (as long as you have authenticated SMTP like Kolab has). The only thing that will change is the username and password EG... I have a E66. I tried adding an email account and all it asked me for was Email address and Password then it said "Retiring mail Settings". Unfortunately it didn?t work. I then had to use my Gmail email address and password and it automatically setup the mail account will the correct ports, authentication and server names. Outlook 2007 has the same option when you first add a new account. I just thought there was a way to set this up in Kolab. On another note... I had an email address (say myname at company.com). The mail was hosted with gmail. I then changed the MX records to point to my Kolab server (leaving google as backup MX records). Now mail is delivered and controlled from the Kolab server with the exact same email addresses. Weird thing is that If i do the "automatic thing" with this email address, it sets it up as a gmail account (i used the same password for the kolab server as the one which was used when it was hosted with Gmail). It obviously is still looking at the gmail account even though the MX records are now pointing to the Kolab server... my question is, where does it get info to point to a certain server and get info from that server? Cyrus IMAP versions 2.2 through 2.3.14 contain a buffer overflow vulnerability that may be triggered by a specially crafted SIEVE script. To install this type of script, the attacker would need to have direct access to a mail account on the server. Affected Versions ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This affects versions of Cyrus IMAP Server up to version 2.3.14 Kolab Server 2.2.2 and previous releases are affected. Fix ~~~ Upgrade Cyrus IMAP Server to imapd-2.3.13-20081020_kolab3, which includes a patch to fix the problem. OpenPKG packages for Kolab Server 2.2.2 are available from http://files.kolab.org/server/security-updates/20091002/ or from the mirrors listed on http://kolab.org/mirrors.html A binary RPM for Kolab Server 2.2.2 (ix86 Debian GNU/Linux Lenny) is available as imapd-2.3.13-20081020_kolab3.ix86-debian5.0-kolab.rpm A binary RPM for Kolab Server 2.2.2 (ix86 Debian GNU/Linux Etch) is available as imapd-2.3.13-20081020_kolab3.ix86-debian4.0-kolab.rpm Above source and binary packages have been verified to work with Kolab Server 2.2.0, so you can upgrade the imapd package without doing a full upgrade. All other server versions: Please upgrade to Kolab Server 2.2.x and install the updated imapd package. You can check the integrity of the downloaded files with: $ gpg --keyserver keys.gnupg.net --recv-key 5816791A or import the key from https://www.intevation.de/~thomas/gpg_pub_key.asc $ gpg --verify SHA1SUMS.sig $ sha1sum -c SHA1SUMS The source package can be compiled and installed on your Kolab Server with: # su - kolab $ openpkg rpm --rebuild --define 'with_fsl yes' --define 'with_group yes' \ --define 'with_group_igncase yes' --define 'with_atvdom yes' \ --define 'with_ldap yes' --define 'with_annotate yes' \ --define 'with_morelogging yes' --define 'with_kolab yes' \ --define 'with_kolab_nocaps yes' \ ...path/to.../imapd-2.3.13-20081020_kolab3.src.rpm $ openpkg rpm \ -Uvh /kolab/RPM/PKG/imapd-2.3.13-20081020_kolab3.--kolab.rpm To install a binary package, just skip the rebuild step: # su - kolab $ openpkg rpm \ -Uvh ...path/to.../imapd-2.3.13-20081020_kolab3.--kolab.rpm Alternatively you can copy or symlink all source and binary rpms and install-kolab.sh of your current installation and the source rpm of this security advisory into a new directory and follow the instructions below "Generating your own 00INDEX.rdf for installations or upgrades" in 1st.README to generate a new installer which can be used to compile and install the new package without having to specify the "--define" options. This should be enough to bring back the data right? I made a litle backupscript (https://wiki.kolab.org/index.php/Kolab_backup.sh) to do just this. If the server is not too busy you probably can get away with this script, but you may have to invest some time in learning to work with cyrus recovery tools when you need to restore your data. -- Met vriendelijke groet, Micha Kersloot http://www.kovoks.nl/ KovoKs B.V. is ingeschreven onder KvK nummer: 11033334 From Roessler at FuH-E.de Fri Oct 16 11:41:55 2009 From: Roessler at FuH-E.de (=?ISO-8859-1?Q?Christian_R=F6=DFler?=) Date: Fri, 16 Oct 2009 11:41:55 +0200 Subject: =?ISO-8859-1?Q?Ausf=FChrliches_User_Manual?= In-Reply-To: <20091016091603.232280@gmx.net> References: <20091016091603.232280@gmx.net> Message-ID: <4AD83FE3.9060506@FuH-E.de> Happy_Bruno at gmx.net schrieb: > Gibt es keins? > Wo finde ich sonst auf?hrliche informationen? LDAP fehler: > LDAP Error: could not add object cn=test test,dc=beispiel.de,dc=de: Already exists Auch das wundert mich: Weshalb sollte man das wollen? This will probably take care of a large portion of your SPAM. I generally find spamassassin alone is never enough. Especially with the default settings, and rules. You can tweak the amavis configuration and lower the limits if you want. http://www.rulesemporium.com/ Try some additional rule sets if you want. if you start with SARE rule sets, you will really need to pay attention to the scores, and configure SA limits in amavis accordingly. In addition to that, you can also use some kind of proxy for SPAM filtering and / or greylisting. I have used postgrey as it easily integrates with postfix. Just run the server on a specific port, and one line of configuration into main.cf. http://www.greylisting.org/ For more info, and links. I have the problem that spamassassin recognizes a lot of spam and marks it as spam, but it's pretty useless as long as the mails still get delivered to the inbox. I don't want to create rules for each user and I don't want to explain my users how to set up sieve rules with some new software. It's actually quite simple with horde but these users don't use horde all they know about is Thunderbird and most users are pretty much only users and I would like to keep their life simple (which also makes my life simpler :) ) So, long story short ... how can I setup global sieve filters with Kolab or do I have to write a script to create a sieve script for each user? regards, Cristian Livadaru -- LcX.at - Web Design, Development & Hosting VoIP & Linux Groupware Solutions http://lcx.at -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... (e.g. called default.siv) 2. Use the "include" extension in each user script where you want to include the global script. Example: ---- require ["include", ....]; include :global "default.siv"; ---- Hope that helps Jens From albrecht.dress at lios-tech.com Wed Oct 21 10:30:12 2009 From: albrecht.dress at lios-tech.com (Albrecht =?utf-8?q?Dre=C3=9F?=) Date: Wed, 21 Oct 2009 10:30:12 +0200 Subject: Q: Ownership and organizer of appointments in shared calendars Message-ID: <200910211030.12356.albrecht.dress@lios-tech.com> Hi all, I noticed some oddities with appointments in shared calendars using Kolab 2.2.0, Horde and Outlook w/ the Toltec connector 2.3.1. As an example, there is an appointment created by Toltec in a shared calendar for which I have read access. Looking at the XML part of the appointment, it contains a "" (not me), and a list of "" objects (I'm not in that list). The XML does not contain an "" element. (a) In horde, if I move over the appointment, the tooltip reads "Owner: Me". (b) In Outlook 2007/Toltec, when I open the appointment, the dialogue shows me as organizer in the list of attendees. I looked at the code you used in 0.1 and was wondering if you'd be willing to collaborate on getting this supported directly in the Kolab server. I noticed that you do the IMAP handling directly. Is there a specific reason for that? You already use the Kolab_Format package for the XML parsing and I think using Kolab_Storage for the IMAP handling would make sense. Especially since you get caching of the Kolab objects that way. Accessing an IMAP folder with thousands of events or contacts should be significantly faster that way. But other than that I think it would be worth trying to get this into a package that can be distributed with the Kolab server. What do you think? Are you used to version control systems and if so do you have a specific preference? Would it be okay for Libertech to place the code in a public repository? I personally have a preference for git at the moment and I tend to choose github.com as host for new projects. Sourceforge.net would be a fine alternative. Another possibility might be the Horde repository. For that we'd be fixed to github.com (as I'd need to relay your commits from there to the Horde repository). It would have the advantage of getting feedback from the Horde community though and releasing the code as PEAR package for installations would be easier. You can defintiely expect me to contribute in the area of Kolab_Storage integration, package structure and unit testing. The preferred way would of course be using the Mac tools (mail, ical, address book). Is that possible, maybe with a plug-in? Are there alternatives? IIRC there were rumours about Kontact for Mac. Any idea about the status? Not sure if it is possible to get Outlook (or something similar) for OS X - do plug-ins exist for it? Horde is *not* a alternative, btw... ;-) Thanks in advance, Albrecht. I made a wiki page for it on: http://wiki.kolab.org/index.php/Z_push#Z_push I hope that it makes it easier for others to install the software. I have some questions / remarks about kolab-z-push, so please keep on reading this. I created 2 rpms for this, 1 that delivers z-push and the other the sole kolab.php to extend z-push for kolab. The latter rpm (kolab-z-push) provides the following directories:# find z-push/ -type d z-push/ z-push/state z-push/kolabindex z-push/kolabindex/uid_id z-push/kolabindex/id_uid z-push/include z-push/backend Is this correct? The directories state, kolabindex, uid_id and id_uid are writable by the webserver user. When I browse to the url: https:///Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync it results in a popup window asking for a login and password, that seems to work well. Is there a way to perform more testing? Is it possible to test the kolab part of z-push (without device ;) ) What about these defines: define('KOLAB_CONTACT_FOLDER',"inbox.contacts"); define('KOLAB_DIARY_FOLDER',"inbox.calendrier"); I have the following folders: Calendar and Contacts, should the KOLAB_CONTACT_FOLDER and KOLAB_DIARY_FOLDER be named inbox.Contacts and respectively inbox.Calendar? I created the rpms for openSUSE. For openSUSE_11.1 they can be downloaded from: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/php:/applications/openSUSE_11.1/noarch/ other repositories exists for other openSUSE versions. Background: To remove e.g. a user, one "kolabDeleteFlag: servername" is added for every server (master and slaves). First all slaves delete everything they know about that user (e.g. IMAP spool) and after that their corresponding kolabDeleteFlag entry. If all slaves are done, the master server removes the IMAP spool, etc., and finally the full LDAP entry.
